Beginning from the edge of the town of El Chalten , the trail winds its way through nire and lenga forests dotted with yellow-flowered calafate bushes. Continue onward to Mirador de las Vueltas and Chorrillo del Salto, a lovely waterfall and its stream of melting snow from Fitz Roy massif. Soak in fantastic views of mountains, rivers and lakes before crossing the wooden bridge over Rio Blanco. Keep climbing until you approach the final switchbacks and reach Laguna de los Tres. Take in the beauty of this cobalt blue lake. Marvel at the breathtaking panorama from a lookout and admire the three granite peaks of Mount Fitz Roy, Aguja Poincenot and Cerro Torre. Wander along well-marked trails to viewpoints offering splendid views over Laguna Sucia nearby.
