Go off the beaten track on this exclusive tubing adventure. Journeying deep into Kauai’s lush interior, traverse through the 17,000-acre Lihue Plantation in 4WD vehicles. At the launch site, grab a tube, don a headlamp and enter the gently flowing waters, which originate near the summit of Mount Waialeale. The waters are channeled through man-made open ditches, tunnels and flumes. While floating down the tropical waterway, marvel at this more-than-a-century-old engineering feat. The water system’s course varies from lazy river to fast flowing with tiny rapids. Go through three long tunnels with low ceilings and glide past some of the most picturesque lands on the island. Soak in views of the coastline, ocean, mountains and valleys. After the tubing experience, proceed to a picnic area and swim in a pond. Finally, you'll be treated to a light lunch of sandwiches and chips. Hop aboard a 24-foot-long rigid hull inflatable raft and explore the Na Pali Coast. Your tour will start from Port Allen, and you will travel along the southwest coast of Kauai to the Na Pali Coast. Spanning 17 miles, the coast features extraordinary natural beauty and is filled with beaches, waterfalls, caves and reefs. Along the way, encounter pods of dolphins and sea turtles. Soak in views of Niihau Island, Polihale and Kokee state parks in the distance. Land on the white sand beach of Nualolo Kai, an ancient fishing village and native plant sanctuary. You may spot monk seals resting on the shore. Keep an eye out for the petroglyphs that pepper the beach. Go on a guided hike through the dense rainforest. Walk on trails along the narrow rims of the Nualolo Valley and enjoy panoramic coastal views. Later, ocean conditions permitting, check out the sea caves and go snorkeling in the company of colorful reef fish and rays. Travel on the picturesque Hana Highway, through Maui’s verdant countryside, during this eco-adventure tour. You will traverse scenic vistas with 620 curves, cascading waterfalls and 59 bridges. Along the way, your knowledgeable driver/guide will tell you about ancient Hawaiian culture, myths and legends. Pass through Paia, a town on the North Shore that is home to surf shops and art galleries. Watch waves crashing against the rocky coastline at Kaumahina State Wayside Park. View the Upper Waikani Falls, also known as Three Bears Falls. Stop at the traditional Hawaiian village of Keanae with its taro fields. Stand near the Keanae Congregational Church and see the waves roll over the jagged, black lava rocks. Then, halt at Pua'a Ka'a State Wayside Park, with its acres of rainforest. Weather permitting, you may swim in the waterfall pools. Next is Waianapanapa State Park in Hana that boasts a black sand beach, blowhole, lava tube and sea arches. Explore the best of Maui. Drive through a variety of ecozones and take in scenic views while you make your way to Haleakala National Park. Travel upcountry with your guide, going past plantations and ranches. You’ll see that the landscape turns barren as you approach the summit of the dormant Haleakala Volcano. Explore the unique landscape and acquire knowledge about the area’s flora, fauna and folklore. Keep your eyes peeled for the rare Hawaiian goose and Hawaiian petrel. View cultural and natural history exhibits at the Haleakala Visitor Center. While descending, take in views of the rolling hills and expansive pastureland of Kula. Head to Wailuku and walk along Market Street that has numerous family-owned shops, bakeries and restaurants.
