Kathleen did her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont with a major in Spanish, and a minor in political science. She fell in love with Spain’s culture after spending a summer studying Spanish at the University of Salamanca, Spain’s oldest University. Kathleen lives in the beautiful Bahamas, which gives her plenty of opportunities to indulge in her love of snorkeling and diving.
MOST ENCHANTING TRAVEL
Most recent and most memorable travel experience was visiting one of the seven indigenous tribes in Panama, The Embera. After a long drive outside of Panama City, my niece and I took a short hike to a river followed by an hour ride in a dugout canoe with a small outboard motor eventually reaching the village of the Embera.
We were deep in the Chagres National Park and it was just after wet season so the area was still very green and lush. We spent the day learning about their culture, ate their food, met the elders and the medicine man who explained the native plants and their healing potential.
