Jomsom is a small but pretty town located at a height of 2,760m in the Kali Gandaki Valley of Mid-Western Nepal. It is the district headquarters of Mustang and is often called the Gateway to Upper Mustang. The town is split down the middle by the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest in the world, through which the Kali Gandaki River flows.

Kagbeni village in Nepal is located at the confluence of two rivers, Kali Gandaki and Jhong, at an altitude of 2,800m in Lower Mustang. Part of the Annapurna Circuit Trek route, its name is a mix of two languages, ‘Kag,’ meaning block or center in Tibetan, and ‘Beni’, which means meeting of two rivers, in Nepali.

The spectacular Annapurna Circuit, closeted by central Nepal’s Annapurna Mountain Range, is a mountain trekker’s paradise. Crisscrossed by ancient river valleys and dotted with soaring mountain peaks, the region has something to offer all shades of trekkers.

Lumbini in Nepal is home to the whitewashed Maya Devi Temple – a testament to the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha), as well as ancient Emperor Asoka’s inscribed pillar.

Dharampani is a charming little Nepali hamlet, set just above the Seti River. It is also a trading hub for the Bandipur Municipality of Central Nepal, with a busy marketplace attracting villagers from the surrounding hills.

Bandipur in Nepal is built along a main high street lined with rows of charming little traditional houses, wide sidewalks and hilltop gardens, all overlooked by the Himalayan range.

Chitwan: A wholly different experience! Chitwan is home to one of Asia’s finest National parks and one of the most traditional and conservative indigenous people of Nepal – the Chepangs.
