Very customized travel allowing you to see those things important to you. Attentive tour organizer and tour manager who focused on making the tour the best possible for us, then followed up frequently during the tour to assure all was going to plan and fine tuning for an improved experience. Far better than a group tour where you do what the operator thinks the most would want and fine tuning does not happen. Support, if needed is always available.

Our trip with Enchanting Travels was one of the best guided/planned trips we have taken. At the basic level, everything from pickups at airports through accommodations and guides worked flawlessly. But the real treat was the special events planned for us that we could never have found as independent tourists.

People, when we booked with Enchanting Travels, we were a bit concerned that a company not known to us would come up with the goods on a trip this size. Our worries were nullified from the planning stages with outstanding communication from our organiser. The accommodation at every location was outstanding and exceeded our expectations, the guides were fantastic with great English and great knowledge of their areas. I must say the guides in Hanoi (Sinh), Sapa (Pham) and the guide in Phnom Penh (Voun) were outstanding, their friendliness and knowledge made us feel part of the family. The trip itinerary was well planned and flexible to our needs. All in all, I could not recommend this company highly enough, I will definitely be travelling with this company in the future.

We all have a bucket list. Sometimes very elaborated, conscious and planned. Some other time the item is floating in a distance, easy to reach, but better at remaining in the fantasy world. Some are so old they’ve been part of the child you were then day dreaming.<br /> In 6th grade, Ms. Robine gave us, 11 years old students the privilege to read « The Lion » from Joseph Kessel. I am reading it again with my daughter to pass the beauty of such littérature as a gift. Such a wonderful book, I kept within me, with the vague, dreamy idea some day I will as well put a foot in Africa, I would as well walk on the red sandy earth, I would get to witness the animals drink, eat, move, play, hunt, and feel the connection with our dear nature surrounding as much as the great divide we created between us and the wild. 35 years later, I felt the urge to take the leap, to overcome my phobia of flying, my shame of the CO2 I would selfishly release, and finally put the trip together. We’ve arrived in Zimbabwe yesterday and on the very first hours we’ve been here, nature unfold itself before our eyes. Nature never disappoints. Angela and Catherine from Enchanting Travels have been so meticulously excellent at planning our trip. We first went to the waterfall on the Zambian side with on the top of it a tiny pool named the Devil’s armchair. Once you crossed to Zambia you can swim along the waterfall and jump into the pool and swim to the edge where you can sit while having small but teeth full fishes enjoying your toes. Scary yet must do experience ! Our guide at the waterfall was so good, he explained us all the history of Livingstone as we were strolling along the edge. The day after we went to Mukuni village which has been established during the 13th century in Zambia. The local royal family has been in power since then from generation to the next. The last 5 years have been very difficult as the amount of rain declined consistently nourishing the Victoria falls less and less. The elephants population has exploded and their crossing to reach Botswana and find more food and water has challenged growing crops. The village rely entirely on tourism to buy all their necessary food to the market, their well is also relying on the electricity which is mostly out. After the art markets that were beautiful, soon we were in Botswana, we saw Dumbo trotting and arriving at the Chobe river, our eyes were mesmerized by giraffes, elephants, lions, crocodiles, hyppos, water bucks, baboons… In Savuti we saw leopards, wild cats, wild dogs, ostriches, blue birds, pink birds, green birds, any color you want birds. We then left Botswana and since arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa we have been stretched in a split. Physically in a 1 hour and 20 minutes bumpy flight we went from drought to a rejuvenating rain. We arrived in a hotel that was not expected. A motel 6 after camping with the hippopotamus as our neighbors and the hyenas visiting nightly would have been nice. But I don’t know what happened when organizing the trip. I did not pay attention. I focused so much on organizing the part in the wild that I just overlooked the amenities for the last two night in a big city. As we drove from the airport, we see the most beautiful trees, all covered with purple flowers, houses are barb wired, electrically fenced, surrounded by high walls with beer glass cemented in. Our driver stops in front of a black metal gate in front of which a man armed with a machine gun stands. The door opens and at our car door pops up another man with a red vest and top hat. We are a little motion sick from the plane and tired from our many days traveling, we feel swallowed in a Jim Burton movie. Everywhere are crystal chandeliers, and Napoleon I style mirrors, frames depicting portraits of Beethoven and Mozart and other chasse à cour scénarios, beautiful Persian carpets from room to room, wood carpentry running on the walls. We must look very funny with our mouth opened and our eyes like children before a Christmas tree. Are we the victims of a TV show? We have arrived at the old Chinese consulate, indulging in the most refined and elegant paradise. Thank you to Catherine from Enchanting Travel for such nice finishing touch!

My whole experience…from being met in the airport and transported to the first hotel to being welcomed at our Safari site late in the afternoon to our final departure from Victoria Falls….was well planned with thoughtful points of interest and a smooth transition from one activity or location to another. Extra highlights such as on the spur of the moment stopping to see if we could see a whale (we did) added that special memory and excitement to the trip.
